Job Description
RevolutionRace is looking for a Head of Sourcing to lead and develop the material function and ensure that materials supports product performance, sustainability and commercial goals. This role is central to the product creation process and acts as the bridge between design, development, sourcing and suppliers. The purpose of the role is to lead the development of innovative and sustainable material solutions for technical outdoor apparel and footwear. The role combines deep technical expertise with strategic responsibility for building a material library and a supplier base that positions RevolutionRace globally and strengthens their ability to deliver products with ‘Unmatched value’. You will work strategically as well as hands-on, supporting teams with expert knowledge throughout the product lifecycle.
The role reports to the Chief Product Officer and is based in Borås, with some flexibility for remote work.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Develop and implement the company’s material strategy in line with product and assortment objectives
Identify and evaluate new relevant materials and technologies
Establish and continuously maintain a comprehensive material library
Be responsible for sourcing and development of the Tier 2/3 supplier base (material and yarn suppliers)
Ensure quality, sustainability, and cost efficiency in material selection.
Lead research and development projects from concept stage through to operational implementation
Design sourcing strategies and conduct risk assessments for Tier 2/3 suppliers in accordance with the Responsible Sourcing Policy
Opportunity to lead a small team depending on the candidate’s experience
Improve supply chain transparency and material traceability
Build internal material knowledge and best practices across the organization
Create and optimize processes and methodologies for material nomination and management of the material library
Negotiate and actively develop long-term relationships with Tier 2/3 suppliers
Ensure that all suppliers meet applicable sustainability requirements (Bluesign®, OEKO-TEX, Higg FEM)
Work closely with the design, purchasing, and sustainability teams
Initiate and drive innovation projects within the scope of material development

Profile and Experience
5+ years of experience in leadership within the same area.
5+years of experience in material development and R&D within apparel/functional textiles, experience within technical outdoor products is meritorious.
Proven experience in building material libraries and supplier bases.
Experience in sourcing strategy and supplier management for Tier 2/3 suppliers.
Strong technical understanding of textile constructions, particularly in woven fabrics
Experience working with suppliers and production partners • Understanding of the full product lifecycle, from concept to bulk production
Commercial awareness and ability to balance performance, cost and scalability
Degree in Textile Engineering or other relevant education in textiles/materials
Fluent in English, both spoken and written
Previous leadership experience is meritorious
