CIP global executive search has been assigned to recruit a Business Controller for a retail company. Job Description

In the role of Business Controller, you will work closely with the CFO to set budgets, KPIs, and business goals—and take responsibility for ensuring these are followed throughout the organization. You will be in charge of preparing materials and reporting to the board, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets compared to budget. Together with the purchasing manager and sales team, you will oversee inventory and purchasing planning, ensuring accurate and optimized stock levels as well as making sure products are in the right place at the right time. This includes inventory analysis, assortment planning, sales and business analysis. 

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Preparation, reporting, and quality assurance of monthly and annual financial statements at group level
• Business analysis by business area, product category, etc
• Cost analysis and control
• Inventory and assortment analysis with action plan
• Sales analysis with action plans
• Variance analysis against budget and cost control
• Financial reporting to the board and internal stakeholders

Profile and Experience

To succeed in this role, you should have solid knowledge of accounting and business analysis. You are quick to adapt to different business systems and integrations to extract data for your reports. You're solution-oriented and reliable in your way of working. You have a strong understanding of financial flows and excellent skills in Excel and other financial tools.

• Bachelor's degree in econimics, or equivalent
• 5+ years experience in a similar role
• Relevant experience in a controlling role within finance, sales, or purchasing is required. You should also have a good foundation in accounting
• Previous experience working with inventory analysis and related KPIs
• Experience from the retail industry
• Strong data/system proficiency and unafraid of new systems, interfaces, or digital tools
• Excellent communication skills in both English and Swedish, written and spoken
• Advanced Excel skills
